Our client, a global international investment bank is looking for a Data Warehouse Developer for their Business Intelligence team to work on Regulatory Reporting for Securities Trading. ETL experience is required and experience with either Oracle or MS SQL databases is acceptable. The team implements and supports systems data warehousing, cubes and reporting solutions for Risk, Finance and Product Control areas.
You are a Database Developer/Support Analyst working with technical development activities that service ECNs and Brokers with trade data.
Responsibilities will include troubleshooting issues relating to loading files and transforming to vendor specifications for Regulatory Reporting.
Other responsibilities include managing the Control M batch and the database code issues.
The candidate will work closely with development teams and Business units - such as Accounting and Product Control to further enhance the data warehouse and reporting elements of the platform and to identify issues.
Strong PL/SQL skills are needed along with an understanding of data warehousing design principles. Control M knowledge for troubleshooting as well as enhancing the batch is also needed.
THE DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with end users and help with BAU.
Define solutions paying particular attention to ensuring technical requirements have been factored in.
Develop efficient ETL routines using PL/SQL.
Work with overnight batch processes using schedule software like Control-M.
Work with wider Technology teams to ensure development/testing is coordinated and best practices are followed.
Help define test cases and work closely with users assisting them with testing bug fixes or new features and functions.
Report to the Technology Team Lead and keep management abreast of statprogress on in-flight issues.
Ensure due diligence has been carried out on all software changes, paying particular attention to detail on unit, component and systems integration testing.
Work with BAU teams to ensure project changes are released to live in a coordinated manner design and develop warehouse enhancements.
Load and validate dimensions and measures Stored Procedures.
Perform all application unit and system testing.
Support the loading and integrity of the data warehouse.
Create data dictionary's and proper documentation on the data warehouse.
THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB:
Solid Oracle 11g (preferred) or MS SQL development and PL/SQL skills
Data Warehousing Design experience and Kimball Methodologies
Experience working within a large database development project team
Experience working in the Capital Markets (Securities Trading) group or related group i.e. Accounting, Credit Risk or Market Risk.
Experience/knowledge of Regulatory Reporting is a big plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, business users and management.
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING :
Experience of writing ETL Packages using SSIS is a plus, but optional.
Ability to understand financial products and how they are reported on by Risk, Product Control and Finance departments within an investment bank.
Business knowledge of various sections used in 2052a filing is a plus.
Experience working on scheduling software such as Control-M
