Job Description:

Ideal candidate has knowledge of current US tax regulations and laws, tax return preparation (informational reporting a plus), and tax research experience. The associate would be responsible for meeting all IRS and reporting deadlines and meeting all internal objectives. Ensuring compliance with all aspects of applicable tax regulations, advising management of tax risks and monitoring tax code changes and implementing any required process changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support annual withholding and reporting compliance requirements for IRS Ch. 3/4/61 withholdings.
  • Provide ad hoc support to various internal stakeholder teams to ensure appropriate tax reporting.
  • Analyze data and perform tax research as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Candidate will be able to manage own time and know when to escalate.
  • Demonstrate outside the box thinking to resolve complex tax challenges.
  • Supports 1099 & 1042s.


Follows established written procedures and guidelines, provides technical and analytical support in a global markets operations support function for one or more operations product areas. Uses established techniques to analyze and resolve complex operations support problems/initiatives requiring exception handling and/or coordination of multiple operational and/or product/services specialists to resolve. May assist in managing projects and/or introduction of new initiatives, systems, products and services and processes coordination across multiple operations functions. Employees will have college degree (Associates or higher) or comparable work experience. Required skills include: expert Excel knowledge, detail orientation, ability to manage multiple priorities and multi task, excellent time management and prioritization skills, with ability to meet tight deadlines, ability and willingness to continuously learn on the job, ability to problem-solve and take ownership of process improvements, ability to work in a team environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with various stakeholders. Desired skills include: Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar major preferred and a basic understanding of and/or experience in financial service industry. To be used for employees in Global Markets only.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year of financial industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Excel, specifically V-lookups & pivot tables.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of the firm and people with different experiences and backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.


Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of US tax regulations and laws a plus.
  • Previous experience with the investment banking/prime brokerage clients a plus.
  • Familiarity with IRS Regulations pertaining to Chapters 3, 4 and 61 withholding.
