eCommerce company in Baldwin, NY is in search of an essential member of our hard-working team. The Returns Technician works to keep an organized and efficient area at all times and is responsible to communicate issues with all involved. They will be responsible to inspect and process consumer electronics returns, this includes small speakers, consoles, laptops, and more. As a Returns Technician you will test and process for resale a wide variety of consumer electronics. The person in this position should understand that product received into this area requires their dedicated attention and a timely disposition. They must be willing to put forth the effort necessary to make this happen at all times.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with returned product
Ability to refresh/rework product for resale
Some basic inventory control knowledge, including ordering and packaging spare parts.
Possess the skill to test refurbished items and assure that they are functional for sale and if not, follows proper procedures for disposition of defective product
Skilled at replacing defective parts and complete preventative maintenance as required
Inspects returned equipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer.
Organizational skills and a commitment to a clean and organized work environment at all times
Ability to prepare and complete paperwork for all machine repairs
Skilled at maintaining communication with all involved parties; customer service, vendors, buyers, etc.
Attention to detail, such that product is always tracked and movement through the repair or disposition process is always timely and efficient.
Performs other related duties as required, such as warehouse support
Qualifications and Skills:
Working knowledge of consumer electronics, please only apply if you have this knowledge, as it is essential in order to be considered
Technical background and/or education is strongly preferred
At least two years of relevant technical experience
Skilled at making critical decisions while following good practices and company procedures
Ability to act proactively and take the initiative when appropriate
Enjoys working as a member of a team, bringing a positive attitude to their work
Excellent work ethic, ability to see the big picture and dedicated to the growth of the company
