Midtown Manhattan Architecture firm is looking for a field representative for a new school building of 67,500SF that will be starting construction this summer in the Bay Terrace neighborhood of Queens, NY.
The project is being built for the New York City School Construction Authority for completion in 2023.
The position requires 3-5 years of experience working with the School Construction Authority as a Field Representative or Project Officer. Other similar experience will be considered. The candidate should be a Registered Architect or PE and will be stationed in the School Construction Authority's on-site trailer during the work.
The position will require daily monitoring of the construction work, response to RFIs, creation of NCRs, processing of bulletins, attendance at all site meetings, including minute writing for site progress meetings. It will involve working closely with the project personnel in the Architect's home office, as well as with the School Construction Authority project officers who will occupy the construction trailer.
The candidate must be very familiar with construction documents, SCA details, procedures and protocols and have an extensive knowledge of the construction of institutional scale buildings, including architectural, structural and MEP systems. The candidate should be able to produce site sketches in AutoCAD for field conditions that arise, and be able to edit AutoCAD files for use in filing amendments with filing agencies, and for coordinating with the Architect's home office. The candidate must have OSHA safety certificates for scaffold work and site safety.
The goal of the position will be to work with the entire team to help construct and complete a large complex school building efficiently and to a high level of quality.
