Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network/System Engineer with our client in the financial industry in their New York, NY location. This is a 12 month + contract position.
Description:
Work as part of the Audio-Visual Engineering team primarily with the development, certification, and testing of Audio Video solutions for meeting rooms and collaboration spaces
Author procedures, reference guides, and other documentation for handoff to other teams
Must be proficient in AutoCad as it applies to the creation and maintenance of engineering drawing packages
Provide advice and recommendations specific to customer requirements to vendors and partner teams
Help troubleshoot and problem solves with the operations team as a level 3 technician or subject matter expert.
Commission and maintain lab systems
Physically setup elements of systems to test, check, and prove the concept
Assist in the certification of AV solutions and individual components for use in the production environment by learning and following corporate processes and tools
Develop, follow, and document setup and testing procedures and their results
Train others as appropriate
Provide integration testing with Video, Engineering, and Network security teams
Maintaining release notes, version control, and tracking of designs, source code, and documentation
Drive standards across the environment per project or as part of large-scale transformations
Ensure seamless integration of solutions into the environment according to the accepted product lifecycle, including contribution to toll gate processes for introducing new services and products
Oversee risk, audit, and compliance items in the space, drive solutions, and monitor to closure
Develop knowledge from both experience and research
Ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize work
Ability to describe issues, escalate, and articulate impact to affected users and leadership as needed
Follow through to assess resource requirements, secure resources, and drive projects to completion
Ability to thoroughly review, understand, and interpret technology updates for applicability in the environment we support
Must be able to produce technical documentation and reference guides
Must be able to record processes and translate into instructional details
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Technical theory and configuration knowledge of current Audio-Visual technologies
Organized and flexible with the ability to approach different types of tasks during the working day
Focus to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and perform under pressure
High level of computer literacy/competence, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Intermediate working knowledge of basic networking principles and protocols such as TCP/IP, Telnet, FTP, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL
Understanding of access controls, role-based access, and restrictions
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
BS or BA in engineering, computer science, or related field
8+ years in the Audio-Visual, Broadcast, IT industry, or related field
Minimum of 5 years in an engineering role
One or more industry-related certifications such as AVIXA CTS, Crestron CTS, Q-Sys, Cisco CCNA
Proven leadership skills in a high paced, highly technical solutions environment
Experience with server-based infrastructure (SQL, Active Directory, Exchange, IIS)
Cabling, termination, and testing experience
AV Control experience including Crestron, Extron, and/or AMX
Practical Audio DSP experience using; Biamp, QSC, BSS or MediaMatrix
Help desk experience
Experience with AppSpace or other digital signage solutions
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of customers and leadership
In-depth knowledge of Cisco Collaboration solutions, including voice, video, data, conferencing, and endpoints
Integration experience with Cisco CMS, Sonus Client, Cisco TelePresence, TMS/TMSXE, Collaboration Edge, Avaya, Genesys, NICE, B2B, Polycom and Cisco/Tandberg Video systems, Skype for Business
Experience with desktop video product integration, especially Microsoft Skype for Business
Knowledge of leading industry disruptive technologies such as SDN and impact on Voice, Video, and Collaboration
In-depth knowledge of audio, video, and networking protocols such as TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, SNMP, H.323, SIP, RTV/RTP, AVC/SVC, H.264/265, H.239, Dante, AES 67
Must be proficient in AutoCad as it applies to the creation and maintenance of AV engineering drawing packages
Familiarity with Crestron products (e.g. Fusion and DM) is desirable
Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)
