Description Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerks who are self-starting and detail-oriented will be excited about this opportunity! This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the New York, New York area. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be entering, posting, and reconciling batches, as well as researching and resolving customer A/R issues, preparing aging report, placing billing and collection calls, maintaining cash receipts journal, updating, and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L. Candidates looking for career growth potential and who are capable of processing 200+ invoices per week will be best fit for this position.ResponsibilitiesSort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Present information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
Communicate, reinforce, and support the values, culture, and mission of the organization
Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers
Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
Verify documents and codes
Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment Requirements - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired
Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Strong attention to detail
Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
Aging Reports experience
General familiarity with consumer collections
Solid understanding of account reconciliation
Experience with NetSuite
Proficiency in cash applications
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
Well-founded grasp of commercial collections
Practical knowledge of consumer collections
Proven knowledge of retail
