Description Robert Half is seeking an Chargeback Specialist with experience and a knack for problem-solving to join a growing firm in the Retail - Clothes & Access industry. Responsibilities of this position include: enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a long-term contract / contract / temporary Chargeback Specialist position and is based in the New York, New York area. Major responsibilities Complete a wide range of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
Assist in setting up payment plans; contact clients to help resolve payment issues
Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Sort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Settle bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a variety of ledgers
Verify codes and documents
Offer information to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders Requirements - Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Skilled with ERP systems
Chargebacks experience
Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
Expertise in Credit Card Reconciliation
Experience with SAP
