Description If you want to work with a growing company, you might be the Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional this dynamic team is looking for. You will succeed in this position if you can enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging reports, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, and update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. The Accounts Receivable Specialist role, based in the New York, New York region, is a permanent position.Your responsibilitiesHandle monthly closings and annual reports, including processing payments and compiling segments in compliance with GAAP
Carry out general accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures
Ensure the mission, values, and culture of the organization are supported, conveyed and reinforced
Answer questions from shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stake holders
Reconcile bank accounts, recording and balancing financial information in a variety of ledgers
Confirm documents and codes are correct
Contact clients to settle payment issues and establish payment plans as required
Requirements - High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Relevant experience in accounts receivable
Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
Current and relevant ERP system experience
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
Yardi experience desired
