CUNY SPS was ranked in the top 5% in the Nation in U.S. News & World Report’s list of the 2018 Best Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs.Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions will assist in managing the daily operation of the admissions process for undergraduate, graduate, and certificate applicants to the CUNY School of Professional Studies. The successful candidate will assist with marketing and recruitment initiatives; coordinate the execution of a multi-faceted communication plan for prospects, applicants, and newly admitted students; and maintain an operational calendar for the office. The Assistant Director of Admissions will be responsible for a recruitment territory including, but not limited to applicants with foreign transcripts; assist with online and in-person admission events; coordinate with faculty for graduate admissions; and review applications.In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include: Assist the Director of Admissions with strategic admissions planning, including establishing admissions goals and developing recruitment activities. Help to mentor a team of admissions advisors in order to meet the School’s annual enrollment, recruitment, and admissions processing goals. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and the Director of Admissions in designing and developing new print and electronic marketing collateral for the Admissions Office. Collaborate with the School’s Marketing Department on developing and managing a social media strategy for prospective and admitted students. Travel within a defined territory/region to attend college fairs and conferences. Conduct information sessions. Plan and implement various on and off-campus programs and initiatives. Develop and maintain relationships with community colleges and community-based organizations. Serve as liaison with other campus offices and/or departments; specifically with faculty for graduate admission purposes. Work with alumni admission volunteers.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.The preferred candidate will have: 4 years of admissions experience at a regionally accredited college or university Master’s degree in a related field; Supervisory experience in an admissions office setting Experience working with nontraditional and transfer students; Experience working with CRM systems; Familiarity with PeopleSoft and/or CUNYfirst and the aptitude to learn new systems as needed; Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed; Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; Ability to build rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and faculty; Evidence of proactive problem solving and follow-up to resolve student issues; Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records; Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively.CUNY TITLE OVERVIEWSupervises activities in an operational unit supporting Admissions and/or Enrollment.

Oversees staff activities; plans and monitors employee scheduling and coverage and coordinates training

Serves as liaison to one or more departments providing student support services, such as Financial Aid

Coordinates selection process activities such as applications review, verification of information, and timely forwarding of data to other CUNY areas

Coordinates mailings and other communications

Monitors activity and reports on both transactions and outcomes

Completes projects to improve services and enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness

Performs related duties as assigned.
