Summary

BlackRock's Finance organization is on a multi-year journey to leverage technology and data to strengthen our control environment, automate and enhance processes and digitalize our employee and stakeholder user experience. We seek to build on progress to date to accelerate our path towards an agile, scalable and insight-driven Finance function. Our investments in data and technology create opportunities to modernize our data infrastructure; implement self-service dashboards and enhanced analytics for finance and business manager value.

Team

The role of the Finance Strategic Technology Initiatives (FSTI) team is to help drive transformative change, both within the Finance organization and with respect to how Finance delivers insights to business management teams across BlackRock. As a member of FSTI, you will own delivery of specific critical initiatives framed by clear goals and business requirements, measures of success and project plans which ensure each project can be executed successfully on a timely basis. Team members must be self-starters who are passionate about continuous improvement and who will productively collaborate to assess and respectfully challenge the status quo on an ongoing basis. Success is evaluated through a track record of proposing, influencing and executing constructive and innovative solutions that deliver against Finance and business partner objectives. The team works in partnership to find creative ways to unlock capacity to enable finance colleagues to do their best work. Specific areas of focus will include enhancing finance data model architecture and associated change management processes for both data and meta data elements.

Your Responsibilities
  • Partner with key project stakeholders to define project scope and primary objectives based on business outcome expectations
  • Communicate clearly with ability to make complex concepts simple and relatable to day-to-day stakeholder experience
  • Synthesize data, connecting dots to provide context and insight
  • Proven ability to drive standardization, a control framework and constantly evaluate systems, processes and procedures for efficiency opportunities, making recommendations for improvements
  • Explore opportunities to enhance data sourcing, data governance and document business requirements
  • Ownership in designing, building and handing over projects, while others you will retain ownership and execution for
  • Collaborate in a thoughtful and empathetic manner, maintaining focus on outcome delivery within timeline expectations
  • Influence partners to drive rapid consensus
  • Optimize for iterative delivery and product risk to drive value across user experience, business value, technical feasibility and business viability.
  • Lead initiatives across a diversity of methodologies to ensure critical path time to market.


Skills Qualifications
  • Problem-solving, quantitative, process driven and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking
  • Strong business and data analysis skills
  • Ability to deliver well-structured analyses and clearly present findings
  • Superior organizational skills; ability to multi-task and flex with changing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear messages and the acumen to lead discussions with senior leaders
  • Proven track record of driving strategic transformation at the enterprise level
  • Strong project management skills covering project inception through execution, implementation and closeout
  • History of effective multi-tasking, expectation setting, cross-functional coordination, proper issue escalation and successful performance under pressure
