Responsibilities:Responsibilities: Administer leaves of absence for union and non-union employees, including determining eligibility for unpaid and paid leaves, processing and tracking short-term disability, worker’s compensation claims, New York State Paid Family Leave and coordinating all leaves with Federal FMLA requirements. This includes inputting all related data into the Workday system.

Provide in-person, email and phone customer service on a wide range of employee benefits related questions, including but not limited to health, dental, flexible spending, life insurance, transportation accounts, tuition waiver program and all voluntary benefits.

Oversee benefits related enrollments, changes and terminations in the University’s Human Resources Information System (Workday). Including but not limited to running various reports through Myday to facilitate all benefits related actions.

Coordinate and conduct benefits orientations.

Partner with Workday Solutions Group on benefit and leave related reporting and system configuration needs.

Partner with academic units and The Office of Labor Relations to run health eligibility reports for Part time faculty employees. Be the point person for all communications to part time faculty regarding their eligibility for health benefits.

Perform regular audits of part-time faculty contributions for all benefit plans

Work closely with the Director of Labor Relations on benefits and leave related grievance matters.

Work with Human Resources, Labor Relations and Workday solutions group on major initiatives such as implementing new unions.

Work closely with the Assistant Vice President on open enrollment planning.

Work with providers and third- party administrators to resolve questions, problems and claims issues to ensure quality service.

Review and share aged activity and banking reports for United Healthcare (UHC) with the New School Finance Department

Create, test, review and troubleshoot various myday projects, including open enrollment, union implementation testing and year end processing.

Monitor Health Savings Account (HSA) accounts and employee changes.

Perform other Benefits/HR projects as needed.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree Required

Minimum of 2 years of experience administering a full range of benefit programs

Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Excellent presentation, writing and analytical skills

Strong Customer service skills

Technical proficiency in an HR Information System as well as an intermediate to advanced skill level in Word and ExcelPreferred Qualifications: Experience managing disability leaves for an organization

Experience in the Workday system
