6/3/2020Job DescriptionCommercial Construction Assistant Project ManagerAn Assistant Project Manager (APM) assists the project manager (PM).Provides minutes for meeting and is responsible for the output of project communications, primarily with Procore and Building Connected. Obtains, evaluates, coordinates and distributes the information and authorizations necessary to construct the project on time, within budget and to the quality specified. The APM is responsible for written and online communication, as well as the project review minutes, review and transmission of shop drawings, formatting Requests for Information. In the performance of this function, the APM is responsible to protect and promote the interest of both the business and client in all matters as well as demonstrate the personal characteristics of a beginner-level leader. Be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (ex. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)Have knowledge of how Microsoft Project works and be able to format simple schedules.Learn Procore for managing the construction project documentation.Learn and use JD Edwards software for all project financial input.Communication – is clear, concise, and professional; tailors style to audience appropriately especially at it relates to client facing materials and conversations. Have excellent spelling and writing skills and understand most interior construction terms.Analytical and critical thinking – be able to gather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and relay that information through clear, concise communication strategies; able to see how pieces and processes fit into and affect the bigger picture/business modelReading drawings – proficient at reading, interpreting, and updating construction project-related drawings.Understand the bid process fully, send bid requests to subcontractors, collect and analyze bids, work with PM to write work scopes for trades, use excel to provide bid summary. Work with company documents in order to gather a compiled bid together with marketing info.Vet change orders with subs, obtain back up and check/analyze before presenting to the client.
