McCann Worldgroup is a division of Interpublic Group (NYSE:IPG).Position SummaryFinancial analyst with at least 3 years of experience with a mix of industry experience and/or public accounting/audit. Candidate should have an accounting degree, preferably a CPA (or planning to sit for the exam). Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary as position interacts with various levels of regional controllers and/or agency finance personnel around the world. Candidate should be able to work independently and possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills needed to distill and work through business transactions in order to evaluate and determine appropriate accounting treatment. Solid understanding of the accounting for revenue recognition and the impact of the new revenue standard effective as of Jan 1, 2018. Strong computer/system skills that would enable candidate to assist with analysis and automation of revenue calculations.Position is at the McCann Worldgroup Consolidation level and reports to both the WG Assistant Controller and Director of Financial Controls and Contract Compliance, with exposure to the WG Global Controller and Global FP&A group.Job Responsibilities

Supports monthly and quarterly closing process by timely preparation of various McCann consolidated schedules (related to both B/S and P&L) required by the parent company

Evaluates and analyzes accounts receivables & other receivables and coordinates allowance exemption request process

Provides financial commentary on accounts receivables

Participates in monthly closing calls with international regions

Reviews and analyzes prepaid media

Reviews and analyzes miscellaneous liabilities owed to clients and works with agencies to address and monitors action plans for timely resolution of such balances.

Monitors and distributes Parent company instructions on global contracts with volume rebates

Assists in reviewing and maintaining Global and Regional client contract inventory

Works on revenue-related issues and reviews supporting documentation for adequacy

Works with external auditors at quarter and year end, providing documentation/work papers that support account balances and positions taken

Special projects as needed

Required Skills:

Detailed oriented

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Self-starter

Able to meet deadlines

Able to work independently and collaborate with all levels of management (both internally at McCann and at parent company) to maximize performance, problem solving, and result

Thorough understanding of GAAP

Solid understanding of Revenue accounting

Proficient with MS Office products such as Excel and Power Point

Working knowledge of Hyperion and Vantage/SAP a plus

Qualifications

Education/work experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

CPA track is preferred

3 years of experience demonstrating increased levels of responsibility within industry and/or public accounting/audit

“Big 4” preferred, but not required

Advertising experience preferred
