We are seeking a IT Business Analyst for a long term contract role with our client in New York, NY (10167). Compensation depends upon experience level.

7+ years of Analyst experience in investment or hedge fund industry, prior experience with SS&C Advent Geneva

highly desirable.As a member of the Project Management Group, this position will play a key role in firm projects and initiatives to continuously improve the operations of the firm, meet business needs, further automate processes and build upon our technology and data platforms. We are looking for an individual who can document and manage business requirements, propose solutions to business needs, manage system integrations, perform quality assurance activities and and assist in implementation of new tools and applications, The ideal candidate will possess extensive business and systems analysis skills and a solid understanding of the alternative asset management industry

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements and specifications
  • Understand business processes and propose thoughtful solutions to business needs with a focus on automation and scalable processing
  • Work with business team to determine priority, scope and schedule for user requests
  • Continuous focus on opportunities to improve business processes and system architecture
  • Manage requirements change and maintain requirements traceability
  • Conduct business and systems requirements analysis at code and data level, such as data mapping and data conversion analysis
  • Act as subject matter expert for security master / reference master systems, portfolio accounting system and order management system (OMS)
  • Assist in design, rollout and ongoing maintenance/enhancement of proprietary Security Master and Reference Master applications
  • Assist in the roll out of robotic process automation across the firm

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working as Business Analyst in the financial services industry
  • Experience in the hedge fund industry, preferably with a hedge fund or asset manager
  • Strong knowledge and functional experience with fixed income asset classes including bonds, bank debt and asset backed securities
  • Strong understanding of hedge fund operations, including trading support, operations, fund accounting and reporting
  • In depth knowledge of portfolio accounting systems, specifically SS&C Advent Geneva
  • Prior direct responsibility writing structured business requirements, functional specifications, test plans and test cases
  • Solid understanding of system development methodologies and techniques, and an excellent grasp of database concepts and principles
  • Experience with robotic process automation tools a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Strong analytical and problem solving skills
