A NYS agency located in New York, NY is looking for a PC Support Technician for a 9 month contract.

Please note that this position may initially allow for work to be performed remotely. However, consultant will be required to work on-site/in-office once COVID restrictions are lifted. Qualified candidates should be made aware before applying.

Requirements and skills


  • Proficient with computer hardware, Symbol handheld devices, printers, digital senders and peripherals.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows XP/7/8/10 Mobile desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office 2016, Microsoft Suite, Exchange/Outlook 2016, email, and HP Jet Admin.

  • Proficient with Apple Operating Systems.

  • Experience with Service Now

  • Experience with Oracle client based applications.

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory.

  • Experience with Cisco networking devices.

  • Experience with Ethernet cabling.

  • Familiar with networking protocols like TCP/IP, multicast and networking concepts.

  • Experience with Visio/ CAD and technical drawing is desired.

  • Experience with Unix, Linux and Solaris is desired.

  • Good interpersonal, strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience in investigating, analyzing, designing, developing and evaluating procedures and requirements for enterprise's IT systems. Red Hat Linux, Microsoft Windows, Oracle Solaris, Microsoft Office, VMware environment

  • 4-6 years' experience with: Technical skills

  • 2-4 years' experience with: Troubleshooting, MS Windows, Red Hat Linux and Sun Servers

  • 1-2 years' experience with: Database storage, retrieval and customization, VMware, Data Storage, Network Analysis, Networking and ServiceNow


Responsibilities


  • Candidate will provide support as part of 24/7 support team on-site at the Rail Control Center, Power Control Center and the Backup Rail Control Center.

  • Candidate will install, update and maintain computer hardware and software on computer equipment supported by the agency.

  • The position will provide Microsoft Windows and Apple OS support for the unit in the Technology Department assigned to troubleshoot and deploy computer equipment and software.

  • The position will provide computer-related services and support to agency users, perform system administration tasks, perform hardware and software technical reviews and evaluations, coordinate project requirements with departments, and perform other duties as required.

  • Candidate may be expected to work / report to any of agency's facilities depending on work assignments.

  • Moving and lifting equipment will be required.

Observe personnel in the room continuously, control traffic, report and correct breaks in aseptic technique promptly. Maintain and care for all specimens as directed to prevent loss or damage. Assist in application of dressing, moving of patient and transfer to recovery room as directed. Assist in room clean-up and make preparations for next procedure.Assist the nurse in preparing medications or solutions to be administered during surgery, within the following limitations: Mix medicated solution at the sterile field, only under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse dispensing the medication. Label all medications that are not already labeled, for example medicines in syringes, cups and basins when Not for immediate patient use by the original preparer and/or if the medication is to be handed off to another provider for administration.Qualifications/Requirements:
