Kforce has a client that is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor in New York, NY.Essential Duties:
Facilitate procurement initiatives
Supervise and coach the Purchasing staff
Maintain a log of purchase requests
Negotiate pricing with vendors for goods and services
Organize the purchase requisition process, including oversight of the on-line requisition portal
Create purchase orders in our financial system (Financial Edge)
Place orders for goods and services from approved vendors
Prepare triple bids (or multiple quotes) for purchases based on the thresholds and prepare supporting documentation
Maintain strict controls on the use of the Purchasing Card and properly report and track associated expenditures
Follow up with internal staff to ensure customer satisfaction and confirm the proper receipt of goods and services within Financial Edge
Ensure compliance with the internal approval process
Create a more organized Purchasing function with a sense of urgency, timeliness and a strong customer service focus
Review and update task procedures and documentation
Provide support for audit requests, as needed
Special projects as requested
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of five (5) years of purchasing experience
Superior customer service skills, including being responsive to both internal customer requests and vendor relationship issues
Extremely organized with an ability to meet deadlines and excellent organizational and problem solving skills
Must be proactive and thrive in a team environment, while being able to work independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong Excel skills are a must
Ability to meet deadlines with a sense of urgency
Sense of professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong work ethic
