OverviewWe are hiring an Analyst to join the Real Estate Finance Group (REFG) in our SMBC Specialized Finance Americas Department.Analytical and administrative support to the senior level members of the Real Estate Finance Group including preparation of credit applications, reviewing quarterly loan reports, conducting regular credit reviews of loans in the portfolio, providing research and analytics, assisting marketing staff in preparing client materials and other administrative tasks, as required.Responsibilities
Work with Associates to provide support in executing transactions from beginning to closing including building and maintaining financial models
Assist in preparing credit applications, borrower rating applications, annual/quarterly client reviews
Support due diligence processes, participate in day-to-day deal execution of deals and support the administrative activities of executing transactions
Assist with day to day portfolio management duties including loan administration and compliance.
Monitor and evaluate current events related to the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) sector.
Work with relationship managers to prepare client marketing materials.
Analyze financial statements to determine credit worthiness of borrowers and quality of collateral (if applicable).
Qualifications
1-3 years of financial services experience (ideally in a major US or global bank)
Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills.
Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting and experience analyzing company financials.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail and an ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner against strict deadlines.
Strong knowledge of applicable bank regulations as well as internal Bank procedures and controls.
