Job Location: United States: New York: New YorkRole Value Proposition:Corporate Ethics and Compliance (CEC) manages the firm’s compliance risks preventing violations of law, rule, or regulation, and designs and delivers a compliance risk management framework that maintains risk levels within the firm's risk appetite and protects the franchise. CEC is a risk-based department, focused on emerging risks, and providing constructive challenge to the business and functions, partnering closely with them to implement strong processes and effective controls, as well as to better foster and embed a culture of compliance. CEC monitors trends and changes in regulations and develops and implements global and divisional policies and procedures.This position is responsible for supporting the implementation of both strategic projects and business planning across CEC. The individual supports the Chief of Staff to drive the execution of strategic CEC and enterprise-wide initiatives. They will support global initiatives across the nearly 400-person CEC organization, including HR and talent reviews, quarterly and annual recognition, and MyVoice. They will also coordinate CEC events including global Town Halls. During CEC’s multi-year transformation, the individual will provide critical support to multiple workstreams, that include an organizational design review and the global rollout of an enhanced risk assessment process. The role will require the individual to pivot between multiple responsibilities which include drafting of communication materials for a broad variety of audiences, including senior leaders and Executive Group members, end to end project management support and workforce planning and budget tracking. Additionally, the individual will work directly with the Chief of Staff to provide day-to-day support for the Chief Compliance Officer.The individual will report to the Chief of Staff for CEC and will gain invaluable experience working across the global CEC function.Key Responsibilities:Drive the implementation of strategic CEC initiatives, including Compliance Transformation and the transition into a sustainable operating model
Partner with Compliance leadership and local teams to scope, define, and coordinate initiatives in support of CEC and MetLife strategy
Draft executive level reporting and communications on Compliance transformation and strategic projects, including bi-annual Board reporting
In partnership with the Chief of Staff and Human Resources, support the design and implementation of future-state CEC organizational model and workforce strategy
Support implementation of the workforce plan, including tracking of organizational changes, budget targets, and overall financial implications to CEC and MetLife’s businesses
Support the development and maintenance of sustainable organizational design processes including Compliance design principles, job descriptions, and governance structures
In partnership with Operational Risk, support the sustainability of non-financial risk deliverables, including the global rollout of the non-financial risk assessment
Facilitation and planning of enterprise-wide initiatives, driving key initiatives and acting as champion and change agent on behalf of the Chief Compliance Officer
Provide day-to-day support to the Chief of Staff and Chief Compliance Officer, including executive level reporting, town halls, communications support, and CEC coordination of enterprise-wide initiatives and execution of Next Horizon strategy
Manage across key stakeholders including Risk Management, Legal Affairs, and Audit to ensure alignment and successful execution of key objectives
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:Required:4+ years of compliance or strategy experience, preferably within a complex financial services organization or consulting firm
Prior experience in projects that require detailed execution; strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
Ability to manage shifting priorities to deliver results
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
Maintain confidentiality of information and materials
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and conduct presentations and communicate with senior and executive management
Must be a dedicated, self-motivated individual with an ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent interpersonal skills required to develop partnerships and relationships throughout the organization
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Educational background – minimum bachelor’s degree
