Job Title: Senior Design Systems Project Manager


Job Duties:

The Senior UX Design Project Manager (PM) will be part of the UX Design Operations team, supporting the Design Organization. Design Operations is responsible for program management, stakeholder management, resourcing and planning initiatives. The position is responsible for actively managing multiple time-sensitive, highly visible and complex workstreams simultaneously; proactively solving issues, conducting assessments, making recommendations and initiating improvements; managing relationships and expectations of a large set of internal stakeholders across different organizations.


This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in areas such as design operations, project management, creative operations, design systems, UX/UI design, digital media or creative, app/web development and stakeholder management. Also required is the ability to be self-directed, and to manage multiple deliverables in a dynamic environment.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manage programs or portfolios for UX Design led workstreams, facilitate and lead processes to drive effective project execution, support collaborations with the other project workstreams.

Clarify scope to balance delivering minimum useful functionality with properly scalable system design.

Identify, monitor, and report on system use across the enterprise.

Attend and coordinate with product management release planning activities to identify library needs.

Interview and foster discussions with others using the system.

Align research activity to assess efficacy of system concerns.

Deliver system releases at a predictable cadence.

Manage the backlog and roadmap of library features.

Facilitate regular team scrum and sprint planning sessions.

Identify, prioritize, and monitor task progress of design, development, and documentation across team members.

Schedule regular meetings for critique, scrum, planning, and reviews.

Negotiate and clarify staff capacity for system work relative to other commitments to deliver releases at a predictable velocity.

Identify risks and issues impacting UX Design led workstreams, maintain internal risk and issue logs, and collaborate with Product Management and Stakeholders to drive timely issue resolution on the program level.

Work with cross-functional stakeholders and the Program Management Office to proactively identify dependencies impacting UX Design workstreams, maintain internal dependency tracker, and communicate to the Design, Product Management, and Front End Development functional teams and leadership.


Required Skills & Experience:

BA degree desired (in Design disciplines or similar); PMP Certification a plus.

Minimum of 5 years working and hands-on knowledge of Project Management, UX Design, Digital Production and/or management.

Highly effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and organizational agility.

Strong analytical and effective problem-solving skills to identify, create and lead improvement opportunities, evaluate options, and develop solutions.

Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions with limited direction; self-management a must. Well organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.

Ability to prioritize activities, establish realistic timelines/milestones and achieve results while demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of management including Senior Leaders.

Advanced familiarity and experience Google Suite, with the ability to create professional and creative presentations.

Willingness to travel to offices in New Jersey as needed.
