Senior Director of UX

Our client, a growing Fintech firm is looking for someone to lead the User Experience team to transform the product development processes and resulting products. You will focus on:

  • Putting users at the center of all designs
  • Develop UX culture and UX talent
  • Develop processes to validate, measure and provide user feedback for continuous product improvements
  • Work in an Agile environment

This person should have deep experience with the institutional capital markets and financial services sectors and the products that serve both those business customers.

  • Understand their core products and information architecture
  • Conduct interviews with clients and internal subject matter experts
  • Guide the development of a compelling UX - the finding, presentation and utility of complex financial data

The firm recently started a broad adoption of Agile development methodology. This role will play a critical role in this transformation, ensuring that user centered design principles are fully embedded in the new ways of working.


Responsibilities

Strategic: Define an overall UX strategy & vision

  • Establish a base-line assessment of current UX development processes and the state of existing products
  • Chart out a UX strategy and a practical migration plan - a transformation of their UX development processes and products
  • Be their UX evangelist

Tactical: Build UX their capabilities

  • Coach the existing team
  • Build a community of solid UX and UI design staff & consultants
  • Define processes, tools, best practices and internal skills to test user experience and collect feedback
  • Establish UX success metrics

responsibilities:

This role is a strategic hire, as you will build a UX discipline and culture across multiple product development teams. You will ensure that UX is a critical element of all projects and establish standards and common end-user personas to guide the designs.


This position covers the user experience for all public facing products and internal systems.


This role will manage a team of UX/UI staff who are shared across multiple agile squads. You and the UX/UI team will partner closely with Tribe Leads, Product Owners, internal subject matter experts and clients (existing and prospects) to deliver outstanding user experiences. You will participate in the full product development lifecycle from initial product ideation and business case development through implementation and ongoing enhancements.

This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our New York, NY office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location.
