RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in NYC is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with proven industry experience to join their Cloud project and SRE squad. Their teams are collaborative and forward thinking. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will build infrastructures code, software services (PaaS and SaaS) including security policies, in order to migrate all of LNRS applications.
Summary:
This position is highly visible across all internal stakeholder groups, and will be working closely with various business vertical and their projects deliverables, Development, QA, IT Operations and Customer Operations teams. In addition to operational duties, development opportunities will be available. This is a DevOps role. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be a collaborative team player, with ability to influence, communicate and solve problems effectively, whilst handling a fast-paced working environment. This will be combined with a transition to DevOps practices, agile support and deployment processes, as we start our migration to the public cloud. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be a key member of our team working with a diverse range of technologies. Responsibilities:
Ensuring that our Database migration from the data centre to Microsoft Azure is a success
Delivery of resilient database designs and stacks via "Infrastructure as Code" and other DevOps practices
Diagnosis and resolution of complex system and application issues
Writing and maintaining systems and database documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
Assisting in the development of comprehensive information security procedures and practices and deployment of a detailed security audit across our database tier
Ensure 24/7 technical support and Service Level Agreement for customers is met
Monitoring and on-going support of critical, high revenue business applications
REQUIREMENTS:
BSc Engineering/Computer Science/IT Security or relevant experience
Industry certification: CSSP, AWS Certified Security, CSSLP desirable
5+ years of experience and proven background working in a technical, Cyber Security related position
5+ years of prior experience as a programmer in a commercial software development environment
Experience with Log Management tools e.g - Elastic Stack, Graylog or Splunk
Experience working with an enterprise RDBMS such as MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server
Secret Management services e.g - Hashicorp Vault
Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation
Experience with any high-level programming language
Configuration Management tools - e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef or equivalents
System and application monitoring - e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, etc.
Experience using Java, J2EE and Web applications using MVC model
Understanding of defensive, corrective and detective controls and requirements
Experience with Web Services, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA frameworks
Experience integrating with Web Services (SOAP & REST) and parsing JSON and XML data
Experience designing and operating solutions with relational & NoSQL Databases (Postgres, ElasticSearch, MongoDB)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar; Git/GitHub; Nexus, Artifactory, Docker
Understanding of messaging systems like MQ, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, or Kinesis
SonarQube, CheckMarx, AppScan, BurpSuite, OWASP ZAP Proxy, WebInspect, Fortify, Veracode, Nessus, etc.
Knowledge of OWASP Top 10/ SANS Top 25, identify vulnerabilities via manual and automated testing methods and how to effectively remediate vulnerabilities associated with each
