We're excited to recruit aSystems Analyst, Tech Specialist specializing in Medical Logic modulesto join our team.TheDivision of Health Informatics (DHI)focuses on the interaction of people, processes, and technology to support the exceptional patient care delivered at MSK. We manage a suite of clinician- and patient-facing information systems including the electronic health record, patient portal and tools that enable decision support, health information exchange and knowledge management. We bring these tools to bear to support important programs of care at MSK.You will:

Lead the analysis and design of the environment, data requirements, system configuration and custom coding to meet the needs of the organization through innovative solutions outside of standard configuration tools. Specifically, develop Medical Logic Modules (MLM) using Arden Syntax coding to supplement system logic including alerts and hard stops, data integration, order generation, enforcement of adherence to workflows. Develop Application reports and reports for data validation using SQL Reporting Services.

Using Structured Query Language (SQL), query the database to understand the data elements and their structure to assess the frequency and performance of the MLM’s deployed and troubleshoots issues as they arise. Run routine queries for Data Analysis and Configuration.

Plan, manage and lead the development, implementation, ongoing maintenance, interfaces, report generation, testing, enhancements, user training and support of the Clinical Information Systems. Monitor the system daily to ensure data integrity, consistency and accuracy.

Manage and maintain system functionality in a 24X7 environment specifically regarding the implementation and testing of MLM’s outside business hours.

Provide on-call 24x7 Production support for rollouts in the outpatient facilities and on the inpatient units and serve as primary contact for Help Desk support.

Provide post implementation on-site and remote support to clinical and operational users. Accommodate flexible work hours required by this type of support.

Analyze and perform configuration changes and modifications based on requests from the Chiefs of Services, Attending staff and Operational Managers in a timely manner.

Work closely with Physicians and Nursing in the implementation of new system functionality.

Provide detailed comprehensive functional, interface, regression and integration testing of new system releases.

Troubleshoot, analyze and implement solutions to system related problems to minimize operational impact.

Design and develop detailed training materials for distribution to clinical staff and maintain the training environment.

You Are:

An effective communicator, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Interested in and capable of exploring innovative solutions to solve problems and address issues through the use of the delivered and custom-developed tools.

Experienced in clinical systems implementations and support including system configuration, maintenance and software upgrades.

Ability to manage multiple projects, handle confidential information, make independent decisions and use sound judgment.

You Need:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare and/or Information Sciences or related degrees.

A minimum of 4 years’ experience in system management and system implementations; experience in using configuration tools to develop clinical documentation or related experience.

Knowledge of systems analysis and application implementations

Knowledge of workflow processes and process reengineering within a computerized environment

Excellent analytical, problem solving, negotiating, troubleshooting, organizational and time management skills.

Experience in developing and using test plans, documentation of testing results/outcomes

Knowledge or prior experience with Clinical systems and configuration, relational database concepts, programming concepts, and using data retrieval systems and standard query languages (SMS Ad Hoc, SQL, SSRS).
