The Aladdin Product Group (APG) sits at the heart of BlackRock, responsible for designing, building, and operating Aladdin. The Role:
Aladdin Portfolio Management is the technology platform supports the mission critical workflows of both BlackRock investment teams and external Aladdin clients through a set of persona-centered modules and API products. It provides Equity, Fixed Income, and Multi-Asset investors with the ability to make more informed investment decision and operate more efficiently across fundamental, systematic and index investment strategies.

As a product manager you will be responsible for leading efforts to elicit requirements, prioritize backlogs, map dependencies, and mitigate development blockers in order to deliver on our broader Aladdin product vision.

You will have the opportunity to learn about and interact with a variety of core Aladdin capabilities, from optimization to reporting, to construct truly connected investor workflows. You will also closely connect with the marketplace, our client community, and BlackRock business strategy to steer our product's direction. In close partnership with a diverse engineering, financial modeling and business teams, you will deliver cutting-edge portfolio management capabilities with a world-class customer experience.

Your Responsibilities:
  • A successful product manager will help define a clear product vision, execute on this vision, and ensure continuous partner feedback and alignment. This will include the following actions and outcomes:
  • Shape and execute on the product vision for Aladdin Portfolio Management.
  • Own the product backlog, from feature definition and prioritization to development readiness.
  • Collaborate with partners to define deployment strategy.
  • Communicate product strategy and develop key product relationships.
  • Partner with developers through the development process; incorporate user feedback.
  • Lead a virtual product team to build tangible prototypes that clearly articulate business benefits.
  • Serve as a resource to internal and external clients with regard to our capabilities in the context of their business.
  • Partner with the Aladdin Business to help define and lead opportunities related to portfolio modelling workflows in the marketplace.
  • Define and measure business and technical performance metrics to advise product strategy.
  • Stay attuned to industry and technology trends, markets and alternative product offerings and conceptualize impacts to the product offering.


You have:
  • Proven capacity for developing and understanding strategy.
  • Unbridled interest in understanding and solving problems.
  • Basic familiarity with key portfolio construction concepts.
  • Experience working with financial technology.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and communicate up and down the organization.
  • Ability to work and deliver results independently, self-starter.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance or equivalent practical experience.
