UX Designer
NY, NY – Will Start Remote
Contract
Looking for a couple of UX Designers that will be dedicated to a new group which is Digital Design Unification
- They will be working very closely with the VZ Design Systems group (Components/Asset Library)- they don't have to have design system experience, but at least an interest in working closely with the team and learning about it
- This is new responsive web/app design
- Lots of site mapping
- Logic Flows
- Need to know how to link all of these different assets to stream line the experience across all channels
- Interaction Design
- Product Mapping
- Design Governance/Visual QA
Resposibilities:
Generate multiple credible design solutions with guidance.
Can determine what design artifact is appropriate given the scenario.
Participate in divergent/convergent group work.
Exhibit mastery of shared tools and software for design.
Understand and apply patterns from the established design system to create a consistent user experience.
Maintain organized working files and project directories.
Explore, refine, and document design solutions thoroughly.
Are attentive to detail.
Actively research competitive products, industry trends and topics.
Effectively design solutions within business context and revenue model.
Are comfortable with and excited about creating non-screen designs like app maps, sitemaps, user flows, navigation models, and block models to communicate the overall service experience.
Build a working knowledge of UI standards for common platforms (iOS, Android, Web).
Effectively prioritize work and manage time for given tasks.
Articulate user, business, and/or technical reasoning for detailed design decisions in critiques or presentations.
Actively participate and contribute to group dialog and activities, applying active listening and productive conversational builds.
Clearly and concisely communicate the current project plan, goals, and expected outcomes.
Present in meetings as representative of primary discipline(s).
Provide mentorship in areas of expertise.
What we’re looking for
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
A degree in design or related field of study.
Professional portfolio of design work from pencil and whiteboard, to wireframes and prototypes (blog, Dribbble, Github, etc).
Examples of work that demonstrate love of Navigational Models, Site Maps, IA, Logic Flows, or other systems thinking activities.
Ability to digest and translate complex technical requirements into intuitive experiences.).
