The Role We have an opportunity for a Marine or Naval Engineer with interests or experience in marine forensic investigation , litigation support, risk loss consulting , repair , and retrofit design . Curiosity , engineering excellence , and solid writing skills are required for this position . You will have the opportunity to lead investigations in the seaport and waterfront-built environment , industrial facilities , marine infrastructure, transportation sector and high-tech applications . You will be supported in this role by a diverse multidisciplinary team ranging from entry-level engineers to senior management . Position Description We will provide you the opportunity to manage projects independently and support engineers in the Forensics practice on projects as needed . We will support you in business development activities such as conferences and business development events . You will be working directly with a wide variety of clients , including attorneys , vessel and seaport and terminal property owners , contractors , and insurance professionals , on a wide range of investigations which may involve : Mooring, Towing, and Anchoring Analyses Hull Damage Assessments and Repair Plans Dry Dock, Graving Dock, and Ship Lift Vessel Marine Casualty or Accident Investigation Structural and Material Failure Analysis Mechanical Failure Analysis Naval Architecture Equipment Breakdown Root Cause Analysis Equipment Damage Assessment Equipment Loss Consulting and Mitigation Fire Protection and Detection Systems You may be called to serve as an expert witness in various scenarios , including depositions , mediations , arbitrations , and trials . Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations and alterations and oversee their execution in the field. The Role We have an immediate opportunity for a Vice President Mechanical Engineer for our Restoration & Renewal Practice. We are looking for a candidate with experience in managing and executing mechanical engineering projects involving the evaluation, design, and construction of a broad range of systems, such as, steam generation, chilled water, hydronics, refrigerant and water-based air conditioning, ventilation, air distribution ducting, piping, automated controls, and integration with electrical and fire alarm systems.
