OverviewAs part of SMBC Americas' strategy to build a commercially competitive, U.S. regulatory-based Commercial Investment Bank, SMBC Americas has launched an organizational transformation initiative executed through a 5-pillar program aligning all end-to-end efforts across the organization (the "Transformation Project"). Considering the ongoing nature of SMBC’s transformation activities and in recognition of the criticality to operationalize our Bank Holding Company (BHC) structure and Combined U.S. Operations (CUSO), the Americas Division Office of the COO has been established to coordinate activities across Transformation and Americas Division Management. The Web Business Process Engineer will be part of a team of application engineers and front-end designers that build web and mobile applications and dashboards that deliver critical information necessary to identify needs, trends,and issues.ResponsibilitiesThe Web Business ProcessEngineer will be responsible for building business solutions utilizing a wide assortment of technologies ranging from low-code/no-code tools to full-stack development. Responsibilities will include gathering business requirements, designing the front-end via mockups/wireframes, building the solutions, then testing and deploying. The role also involves communicating closely with stakeholders from the start of the project and thru to completion to ensure that requirements are met and that the rollout of the tools have proper training and support. A key component of this role is to facilitate senior C-suite decision making through the development and presentation of timely and accurate analysis leveraging visual dashboards.QualificationsHighly proficient with JavaScript and utilizing JSOM and SharePoint REST API to develop web solutions
Expertise in developing dashboards utilizing Microsoft Power BI, Tableau or similar
5+ years’ experience building web applications in Microsoft Azure / Microsoft Power Platform
Excellent knowledge of MIS, analytics,and reporting.
Ability to analyze workflows and develop data reporting tools based on research, interviews, and subject matter expertise.
Understands how to analyze the risks, issues,and future impact of decisions; incorporating continual adjustments from stakeholders to keep the project on course and when to escalate issues to higher levels.
Possesses a highly developed sense of accountability and follow-through with an ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks, projects,and goals.
Ability to understand complex and highly technical concepts, and easily explain/translate them to peers.
Ability to be a self-starter by working independently to identify and/or complete tasks, and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously while interacting professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong troubleshooting skills to technically analyze a situation and solve end user problems
Ability to prioritize work by setting and meeting realistic deadlines, forecasting,and communicating changes resulting from risks and issues, while ensuring a high level of fiscal control and accountability for project budget and resources.
