POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a welcoming, articulate, enthusiastic individual with a passion for fine quality food and wine and for excelling in the hospitality industry. The Maitre d position encompasses traditional host duties, event coordination for our 10-seat private dining room and supporting management in providing superb customer service and maximizing the seating potential of our restaurant. Our Maitre d' must share our spirit of being grateful to every guest who walks in our door. The position offers growth opportunity with potential for an excellent candidate to be promoted following a period of in-house training.

SCHEDULE

Mon to Fri, 9am to 4pm

PLUS Mon 5pm to 9pm

CRITERIA & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

• One year or more work experience as host/ hostess, server or floor manager in a leading New York City restaurant

• Excellent spoken and written verbal skills

• Knowledge of New York City's business, cultural, social leaders and restaurant community

• Adept in use of Open Table software

• Strong computer skills, including use of MS Word, Excel

• Motivation to provide superb customer service, pride in achieving guest satisfaction and a natural inclination to make people happy

• Four Year college degree

• Three professional references. References from previous employers outside the hospitality field are welcome.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily reservations taking for main dining room and private dining room

• Servicing private dining room requests, including menu planning

• Expediting customers special requests

• Assist management in training junior hosts

• Reservations System Template: Monitoring and editing OPEN TABLE restaurant content and reservations template according to management instructions and customer demand so as to optimize volume and pace of service

• Maintaining customer data base

• Phone System: Edit recordings as needed and on management's request so as to maintain updated hours, menus, etc. Assure phone system is properly expediting calls. (training provided)

• Web and Social Media Content: Under Management direction, assure restaurant information is up to date on various web platforms

• Menu maintenance: Inspecting and cleaning covers, printing pages and monitoring inventory

ABOUT THE RESTAURANT

Rotisserie Georgette is a relaxed fine dining French-American restaurant specializing in high-quality, fresh ingredients prepared on a rotisserie, with an emphasis on a variety of roasted birds from, ducks to guinea fowl, game birds in season, and of course, chicken, along with an array of whole roasted cuts of beef, lamb and also whole fish. The menu, rooted in classic French tradition, has a unique approach to sophisticated comfort food with appetizers, side dishes and desserts that evolve constantly with the seasons and local market ingredients. The restaurant is open for dinner 7 days a week and serves lunch 5 days, with a vibrant full-bar scene and a 10-person private dining room. The restaurant has approximately 100 seats and opened in November 2013.

COMPENSATION
