Job Summary

As a Server, you will provide exceptional food and beverage service to guests in the restaurant, lounge, and in-room dining areas. You will create welcoming, memorable dining experiences by delivering attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous service. This includes taking and delivering orders, anticipating guest needs, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring all service areas operate efficiently.

You’ll also assist with setup, maintenance, and closing duties, helping the team provide consistent and high-quality service aligned with our hospitality standards.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age

2 years of minimum experience in fine dining or upscale hospitality environment preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with guests and team members.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain composed under pressure.

Basic math and POS/computer proficiency.

Ability to lift, carry, and transport trays and supplies (up to 25 lbs) and stand for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours).

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Fast-paced restaurant and hotel environment; indoor and in-room dining areas.

Requires standing, walking, reaching, and carrying items for extended periods.

May work in varying temperatures (kitchen, outdoor patios, or guest rooms).

Team-oriented environment emphasizing collaboration, respect, and communication.

Responsibilities

1. Preparation & Setup

Review daily assignments and attend pre-shift meetings to understand business levels, specials, and guest needs.

Inspect and prepare your assigned station before service: stock all condiments, silverware, glassware, napkins, and table settings.

Ensure all service equipment is clean, sanitized, and functioning properly.

Verify sufficient supply of beverages, garnishes, and service tools.

Familiarize yourself with the day’s specials, menu changes, and any “86” (out-of-stock) items.

2. Guest Service & Experience

Greeting guests within one minute of seating with warmth and professionalism.

Present menus and beverage lists, describe specials, and make informed recommendations.

Take food and beverage orders accurately, noting allergies, preferences, and special requests.

Input orders promptly into the POS system by guest seat number and confirm accuracy.

Deliver beverages and food in a timely manner, ensuring proper presentation, temperature, and accompaniments.

Anticipate guest needs, check in after initial bites, and promptly address any concerns.

Maintain positive guest interactions — engage respectfully, listen attentively, and create a welcoming atmosphere.

3. Service Excellence

Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, preparation methods, portion sizes, and potential allergens.

Understand wine and beverage lists, including proper glassware, service temperatures, and pairings.

Follow all state and local alcohol service laws and company policies (e.g., checking IDs, declining service to intoxicated guests).

Support team members by running food, refilling drinks, and clearing tables as needed.

Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure accurate, timely service.

Communicate guest feedback and issues to supervisors for prompt resolution.

4. Room Service / In-Room Dining

Take room service orders via phone or tablet, ensuring clear and courteous communication.

Prepare trays and trolleys with the correct setup, condiments, and silverware.

Deliver orders promptly to guest rooms, confirming accuracy and guest satisfaction.

Retrieve trays and wares after service, maintaining cleanliness in corridors and staging areas.

Restock the in-room dining area and assist with inventory management.

5. Closing & Post-Service Duties

Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently.

Properly store reusable goods, restock service stations, and clean all work areas.

Reconcile payments and tips according to company policy.

Ensure all side work (cleaning, folding napkins, replenishing stock) is completed before shift end.

Communicate any maintenance or supply issues to supervisors.
