Park Avenue LASEK needs another eye doctor or technician

You’d perform preops, Postops, assist in the OR, see free consultations, be in charge of our medical department reporting directly to our surgeon
You must know how to perform a good manifest refraction, check vision, take a history, do an AR, topography, basic slit lamp exam, we can train you on how to perform a WaveScan, sterilize instruments, assist in the OR
You must have an engaging confident manner because half of your job will be seeing free consultations and convincing them to get LASEK from us by confirming they’re a good candidate and answering their questions confidently and succinctly
Our current Fellow is a MD PhD from Ukraine but her English isn’t great, nor are her communication skills or workplace habits, so we’re trying to replace her
You therefore must be 100% fluent in English, be a perfectionist, have a naturally high attention to detail, be a good communicator, and a team player, and take constructive criticism well & not get defensive
You should also be wearing glasses or contacts and want to get LASEK as a benefit, or have had LASIK already, so you can serve as a walking testimonial. We cannot hire someone who wants to remain in glasses or contacts. Our entire staff has gotten lasered including our surgeon. This is no different than a tanning salon only hiring people at the front desk who like to tan, not someone who thinks tanning is dangerous. It’s not an EEC violation
Hours are somewhat flexible but ideally would be M-F from 9:30-6:30. There are no weekends. You get all major holidays off and are allowed to take off 10 work days per year as vacation and 5 for sick/personal, for a total of 3 weeks off per year
Salary is commensurate with experience
If you’re a FMG or foreigner without work status, we can help you obtain the proper visa to work legally in the USA. Dr Chynn sponsored 3 people to come to the USA from Ukraine during the war, so has a very good immigration lawyer who can do this for you
