We are a busy, Upscale Dental Boutique in the West Village seeking an experienced P/T Registered Dental Hygienist with exceptional bedside manner to join our team. Must be able to provide gentle and quality care, treatment plan, educate and communicate well with patients. Knowledge of Open Dental, iTero Scanner, and Digital x-rays preferred. Anesthesia license is a plus. Ideal candidate will be able to commit to 2 steady weekdays per week and 2 Saturdays per month beginning September. Must be punctual, professional, friendly and a team player. Salary is negotiable and will be based on experience, 3-5 years (Preferred) Please email your resume. We look forward to hearing from you!
Responsibilities:
Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Sterilization of dental instruments
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
Take X-rays or dental impressions
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene
Valid New York licence to practice
CPR certification
Anesthesia Licence (Preferred)
Proven dedication to provide high quality, comprehensive dental care
Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
