Major Food Group is looking for a self-starter to manage benefits administration and Âemployee health & welfare programs.

The Benefits Manager is responsible for the delivery of Major Food Groups Âemployee benefits plans. Duties include project managing open enrollment activities, leading implementation of new initiatives, overseeing communication process and delivery, ensuring administrative practices are in-line with applicable laws and company practices. Duties also include running all other aspects required in a full-service benefits function with a focus on health and welfare plans and system knowledge.

This position will also provide support for the companys benefits strategy, retirement plans, and plan analytics as needed.

Responsibilities:

Manages vendor relationships to ensure that services meet all expectations and are in accordance with policies, contracts, performance guarantees, regulatory compliance and cost control objectives.

Maintains company compliance with all applicable Federal, state and local laws, including state sick pay/leave laws and Federal Wellness regulations.

Develops, implements and maintains cost control programs and processes to maximize coverage with the lowest cost to the organization and employees.

Leads roll-out of new plans and plan changes by managing system testing/implementation process, designing and conducting training sessions and documenting any processes or audits required as a result of the roll-out.

Leads all system data related to employee benefits plan eligibility and ensure that vendor files are accurate and error free.

Resolves escalated issues for employees that are more complex.

Identifies process improvement opportunities and best practices, implement as appropriate.

Reviews and provides input to plan documents, benefit agreements and insurance policies, and partners with vendors to effect changes.

Preparation of reports and applications as required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies (PCORI, TRF, 5500s and required notice distribution)

Assist HR Director in preparing reports for management and accounting/finance support.

Develop Benefits Website “ update processes, benefit programs and documentation as required.

Education:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, required.

Experience/Skills:

7-10 years of experience managing employee benefit programs, including supporting systems and integrations.

Deep subject matter expertise in the areas of health & welfare plan design, and benefit plan laws.

Experience managing in-house benefits administration.

Strong operational knowledge of employee benefits from both systems and plan interpretation aspect including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and disability.

Strong customer service focus and ability to manage the conflict/issue resolution process

Excellent interpersonal and listening skills

Ability to deal with ambiguity and be flexible

Demonstrated ability to effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to thrive in team environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, required.
