Overnight News Cameraman / Stringer / Nightcrawler Wanted

Earn Hundreds to Thousands Per Month Filming Breaking News in NYC (Overnights)

Hey everyone,

My name is Adam — I run LoudLabs News, and for the past 8 years I’ve been out every single night covering crimes, fires, crashes, protests, and major incidents across NYC. We supply raw and edited footage to local stations (ABC7, CBS2, NBC4, FOX5, News12, etc.) and national networks. The business has generated six figures annually in gross revenue during that time — all from overnight stringing.

For 2026, I’m building a rock-solid team of overnight photographers/stringers so I can step back from the field and focus on management, editing, and bigger production projects.

What’s in it for you?

- Commission-based pay – realistic earning potential of hundreds to thousands per month

- How much you make depends on how often you work, how fast you get to scenes, video quality, and exclusivity — full details explained in the interview.

Incredible real-world experience that directly leads to staff photographer jobs at local and national news stations (several of our alumni now work news stations).

Who we’re looking for (must-check-most-boxes):

- You have a reliable car (you’ll be driving a lot).

- You own a camera Mirrorless or ENG — but you can start with a recent iPhone/Android and upgrade later.

- Comfortable working overnights (10pm-5am usually)

- Not afraid to approach and interview witnesses, victims’ families, or protesters.

- Willing to cover ANY newsworthy incident in ANY neighborhood and in ANY weather — full-spectrum stringers only. You cannot be scared of protests, high-crime areas, or chaotic scenes.

- Bonus (but not required): prior experience shooting news, police scanners, editing, or live streaming.

We will fully train the right people. Many of our top shooters started with zero experience — no camera, no scanner knowledge, no editing skills — and are now successful stringers or staff news photographers.

If you’re hungry, reliable, and want to get paid to chase breaking news every night, this is one of the best (and most exciting) side or full-time hustles in the city.

How to apply

Shoot an email with:

- Your name and phone number

- Quick summary of your current gear and driving situation

- A sentence or two about why you want to do this

I personally read every email and will reach out within 24–48 hours.

Looking forward to building a strong overnight news team in NYC.

– Adam
