Description: Our client is currently seeking a Java Full Stack / Cloud Engineering Lead

As an Engineering Lead on the 'Digital Robotics & Intelligence' (DRI) team, you will be responsible to design and implement software in these internally consumed products: "Intelligent Software Bots" that detect anomalies in product features & behavior through machine learning & modeling of real-world customer behavior as training data "Intelligent sensors" that monitor how our product eco-system and infrastructure is behaving in every aspect (no dark corners), and delivers signals via data stream. "Real-time machine learning anomaly detection models" that process massive amounts of sensor data to detect minute degradations. "Developer Tools & Visualizations" that facilitate rapid deployment of new features by providing access to extremely user-friendly developer efficiency tools, personas, product configuration scripts, and bot infrastructure to facilitate gaining confidence to deploy code extremely quickly Participate in the development of new product offerings and innovation to make our products great and decrease our time to market for new features. Our tech stack changes with our needs, but currently we are using: ELK (ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kafka), Cassandra, Kubernetes/Docker, ZooKeeper/consul, VMWare ESX, chef, puppet, terraform, Jenkins, and vault.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop, and Operate solutions for a cloud computing platform encompassing private and public clouds, at scale. Bake in attributes of security, auditability and observability into the platform
  • Define and build value-add services on the platform using cloud-native principles
  • Create technical design for development and integration of new software and system technologies
  • Participate in software and system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning and demand forecasting
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via developing tools and automation
  • Adopting cutting-edge technologies and creating best-of-breed solutions by researching and evaluating alternate solutions
  • Manage and mentor a team of 5 - 8 developers ranging in experience from entry level to seasoned engineers
  • Help evangelize and adopt cloud to an eco-system of developers in the technical community

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems
  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Strong leadership capable of delivering high quality self-contained products
  • Strong understanding of design and coding best practices
  • Able to coach and mentor junior developers to achieve their best
  • Capable of developing modern Angular/jS, Java & Python - Dashboards & UIs, REST microservices to manage, orchestrate, and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure and third-party integrations.
  • Relational Database experience - modeling & normalizing tables
  • Experience in programming frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Angular, etc.) Experience in writing automated tests (selenium, appium etc.) is good to have.
  • Experience in Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes is essential.
  • Experience in the public cloud (AWS), cloud formation templates (Terraform, Skafold, etc.)
  • Experience in Git and tools like Jenkins, Concourse or Jules is essential
  • Strong development profile to be considered as a T-shaped full stack developer.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - desire and expertise to build and solve complex problems in systems at scale
