Position Overview
The Digital Development Lead is responsible for managing and coordinating development resources and processes to deliver new functionality and provide maintenance and support for key our digital products and capabilities. This role is specifically focused on our eCommerce platforms and practice, and will require a deep understanding of best practices from software engineering and user experience to deliver rich highly functional user experiences. This role will oversee the integration of the brand's global ecommerce platform to all enterprise & 3rd party systems and applications while ensuring scalability, stability, and quality within all projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides technology vision and leadership to global digital team and project teams to ensure company is delivering high quality digital experiences
  • Provides strong functional leadership to a team of developers through subject matter expertise, technology vision and code reviews/guidance
  • Manages the integrated development efforts and relationship of the Digital team with all internal and external organizations including but not limited to the areas of webstore, supply chain, warehouse management, product content, security
  • Manages staffing processes including staff assignments, pipeline evaluation, capacity planning, and hiring through internal, supplemental staffing, and third-party channels
  • Responsible for supervising third party organizations delivering solutions, including ensuring quality, scope and charter definition, and maximizing value of IT spend
  • Manages the evaluation of potential projects (with internal resources and 3rd parties), including effort, impact on other projects, and solution high level design
  • Supervises internal and external team execution on projects to budget, quality, and timeline expectations
  • Encourage, mentor, and lead career development activities for team members (including individual contributors and managers) to maximize their abilities
  • Work with product managers to design advanced technical solutions to solve key business opportunities and build appropriate product roadmaps
  • Work with PMO and architecture group to evolve and optimize development methodology processes
  • Drive efficiencies in the development organization through the use of tools, processes and effective resource management
  • Ensure team compliance with development, security and other corporate policies and procedures
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience managing software development organizations of at least 20 team members (including direct and matrixed Project Managers, Developers, Analysts, Testers and other team roles), including full accountability for staff management, budgets, and project delivery
  • Experience in web and Business to Consumer (B2C) eCommerce software development and a deep knowledge of software development methodologies
  • Strong capability of supervising content and functionality for retail B2C sites in a fashion that drives sales while supporting a premier brand's design focus
  • Strong capability in partnering with other IT leaders and organizations to jointly deliver integrated applications
  • Strong track record of managing third party teams, including both onshore and offshore resources and both outsourced and supplemental staffing relationships
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in building and supporting mission-critical n-tier applications, distributed systems, hosted applications and fault-tolerant systems
  • Strong track record of building and managing high-performing development teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively in a global business environment with all organizational levels up to and including C-level
  • Demandware / Salesforce Commerce Cloud experience desired
  • Sterling Commerce experience desired
