The Position:
The Test Engineer will have the responsibility of developing an API testing code used to safeguard our development. This self-starter will be responsible for bringing API products to Production with quality. They will execute on that using the modern testing technologies (RestAssured, consumer driven contract testing, imposter testing and Postman). This an opportunity to join an exceptional team and work in a startup environment on projects that will be used by both end consumers and employees of the largest automobile manufacturers around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop automated testing for API and mobile projects
  • Work with colleagues and technical resources to define testing solutions that provide a safety net for our development efforts using agreed upon tools and technologies
  • Develop solutions in-line with in-house standards and practices
  • Carry out unit testing as well as integration testing
  • Contribute to the on-going development of best practices, identification of suitable new tools and system and service improvements
  • Consistently exhibits a positive attitude and desire to help the team to succeed
What youll do:
  • Use your expertise to compliment feature development using tooling and practices that help to ensure quality in the code that we send to Production
  • Collaborate with Sr.Test Engineers, developers and architects on different testing idioms and strategies to find the best solution possible to automating testing for API development.
Technologies We Use: RestAssured, Postman, PACT, Mountebank, Bootstrap, Angular, Typescript, Java (Spring Boot, Groovy, Grails), Node, Git, Terraform, AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Aurora, etc.), Jenkins

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Automation testing experience against Java code, Web Services (RESTful), JavaScript
  • Knowledge of libraries and testing frameworks
  • Familiarity API testing and microservice testing patterns.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in Computer Science, related field or 1-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience implementing API testing strategies particularly for a microservice architecture.
  • Experience with cloud hosting, architectural principles in security, distributed computing, and Developer Operations experience, such as: Linux Administration, Git, Chef, Puppet, Gradle, Ansible, etc.
  • Participation in multiple system implementation life cycles (test, implement, support)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies including Scrum or Kanban
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical skills and a demonstrable bias toward action.
