Take your passion for the outdoors to a new height as a guide on Lake Placids first zip line canopy tour! Experience Outdoors is expanding our team of outdoor enthusiasts who will bring energy and knowledge of the outdoors to an ever-growing business. Adventure course guides will lead groups of guests through a zipine adventure course built within trees, and off cliffs. Guides will be in charge of the safe passage of customers through a canopy tour while providing them with facts about the local area.

Guides must be capable of demonstrating ability to use sound judgement to keep safety a top priority. Must be reliable and punctual when scheduled. Shows competency in the technical skills associated with the course operation, including knots, belay skills, and personal protective equipment such as harnesss, zip pulleys, carabiners and helmets. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both orally and in writing. Ability to relate and work with diverse populations or participants.

- Required training and certification provided by Experience Outdoors

- Provide an orientation to guests and basic run down of equipment

- Able to work as a team

- Strong communication skills

- Comfortable with heights

- Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others

- Good time management skills

- Committed to the job and able to be on time

- Flexible to assist with other business related duties if asked

- Able to take direction from others

- Perform pre-trip duties

- Welcome canopy tour guests

- Lead groups in wilderness environment

- Comfort and help guests with physical and emotional challenges

- Share information about area and environment

- Manage risky behavior and maintain group

- Respond to injuries and concerns

- Remain professional in all instances

- Help with post tour duties

Adventure course guides should have the ability to be on their feet for extended periods of time while being exposed to adverse conditions including but not limited to; rough terrain, precipitation, extreme temperatures and changing weather. Will at times be required to work under stressful conditions. Employees at Experience Outdoors are expected to be professional and have good hygiene. Employees are required to wear Experience Outdoors employee uniform during work. Experience Outdoors will provide all employees their necessary personal equipment to perform their job including helmet, radio, and harness.

High School Diploma or GED

18 Years of Age
