I am looking for a very unique individual to assist with my disabled daughter (25 yrs old). Plattsburgh, Cumberland Head location.
She is highly functioning wheelchair bound and needs help with:
Driving to appointments, shops, groomers & fun. (Van provided).
Cleaning of house, groceries, cooking occasionally, laundry (wash, fold, put away or hang up - W&D on site), change sheets (pick up mail, put out trash, shovel wheelchair ramp, help with meds set ups & contacting Drs & pharmacies).
Visiting, tv watching occasionally, on call when I am away. Sometimes she wants to be alone and other times just needs a friend to chat.
Must love small dog - assistance with (groomer visits, vets, food & water help, walking, loving). She has an energetic Malti-Poo.
Mandatory - Background check, drivers license and references (its ok if this is a first time job, I will take personal references). Compassion, patience and a gentle manner is most important.
Payment is negotiable depending on availability and experience.
This could be the perfect job for a nursing student/potential for (low rent) housing on site if personalities match with hers after a while. However, anyone can apply as long as they can handle the duties.
I would also consider breaking the duties apart for the right person/people.
I realize this is asking a lot of one person, some days there will be nothing necessary to do so it is not an every day need.
