THE HUB ON THE HILL IS HIRING!
We are in search of a part-time delivery driver, a full-time operations assistant, and a part-time kitchen assistant.
ABOUT THE HUB ON THE HILL IN ESSEX, NY:
Inspired and formed around the spirit of collaboration, our aim is to promote and support local farms and food makers in the Eastern Adirondacks. As a rural food hub, we are a model of “community-based” scale - with the goal of encouraging us all to eat the food grown by ourselves and our neighbors. The facility is not only a hub for local food and culture, but also a community space fostering creativity and shared services while cultivating our local economy.
The Hub’s mission is to strengthen and build equity in our local food system. We do this through five avenues: (1) commercial kitchen for rent and co-packing; (2) farm support through staffing and affordable rentals of frozen, cold and dry storage; (3) direct delivery to consumers, restaurants, grocers and institutions; (4) a local market and event space; (5) food access programming for low-moderate income (LMI) families and individuals.
ABOUT THE DELIVERY DRIVER POSITION:
Looking to catch up on your audiobooks & podcasts?! We are seeking a reliable, friendly and flexible individual interested in helping to transport locally produced food around the region.
Applicants should enjoy a dynamic environment and must be able to commit to between 1-3 days a week year round. Loops go through the Adirondack park and a weekly trip to NYC. Good driving record, comfortable driving larger vehicles, able to drive 5+ hours comfortably per day. Successful candidates are self-directed with attention to detail. Lifting 50+ pounds is required.
Compensation:
$14-$16/hour + Farm Food

ABOUT THE OPERATIONS ASSISTANT POSITION:
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and flexible individual interested in helping in our market and kitchen, and with procurement and distribution coordination.
Applicants should enjoy a dynamic environment and must be able to commit to full-time employment and be open to the possibility of some weekend work. Successful candidates are comfortable with rotating roles throughout the week and have strong organizational skills and an eye for detail. Lifting 50+ pounds is required.
Compensation:

ABOUT THE KITCHEN ASSISTANT POSITION:
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and flexible individual to assist our head chef with co-packing, production of Hub products, and preparation for catered events, as well as optimizing and managing cold storage to reduce food waste.
Applicants should enjoy a dynamic environment and be able to operate in an efficient and organized manner. Applicants who are looking for a longer-term employment arrangement are preferred. Lifting 50+ pounds is required.
