Role

A carpenter at Lina is someone with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will also have good knowledge of wood structures and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. You should be able to collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals to follow building plans and blueprints.

Responsibilities

A Carpenter at Lina would cut, fabricate and install wooden and other structures according to specifications. Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products. You must study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. You’ll also coordinate with other carpenters and workers on site to ensure a safe and clean working environment.

Ability to read architectural plans / blueprints

Repair or replace structural wood beams, joists, columns, or any other structural support for a typical residential home

Install walls, floors, and ceilings using materials such as: wood, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.

Install wood decking, stairs, railing, siding, using wood and plastic materials.

Install insulation, drywall, limited taping and painting as required.

Install kitchen cabinets, vanities, wood moldings, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures

Fit and install window frames, windows, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim

Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.

Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.

Cleans up worksite debris.

Job Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Travel using a company vehicle approx. two hours each way to project and home is required. Counties: Ulster, Greene, Orange, Warren, Essex / Catskills and Adirondacks

Clean and valid drivers license

Able to work in the US

Overnight stay / over a week or more if needed is required.

Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites

Organizational and time-management skills

Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

Preferred qualifications:

Ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically.
