What is an Energy Efficiency Program Manager?This Program Manager would support the Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) and Energy Efficiency programs available to our customers in the Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York State, including clean heating & cooling programs. These responsibilities will include program planning & design, operations, marketing, trade ally coordination, economic analysis, reporting, and evaluation. The Program Manager will be responsible for collaborative development and implementation with the Joint Utilities, as well as the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).What does an Energy Efficiency Program Manager do?
Responsible for implementation and operational oversight of Energy Efficiency and other Demand-side Management (DSM) programs including clean heating and cooling solutions.
Contribute to program design, analysis, tracking, forecasting, evaluation, measurement, and verification.
Manage third party professional service procurement and contract negotiations.
Support the day-to-day relationship with external service providers, including: interpreting and adhering to established contractual agreements and/or service level agreements, managing vendor performance, and driving results in support of Company targets.
Actively participate on PSC and Joint Utility working groups in support of statewide energy goals.
Represent the company's position throughout the regulatory process, including the development of pre-approval filings, shareholder incentive filings, results reporting, participation in technical sessions and/or hearings, and preparing responses to information requests.
Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of program architecture. Research new cost effective measures and program enhancements to offer to customers.
As needed, provide customer service, support, and issue resolution.
Represent Central Hudson at community and industry events.
What does it take to be an Energy Efficiency Program Manager?
A Bachelor’s Degree with a field of study in engineering, business, mathematics, energy, finance, economics, or related field of study. Experience in an energy efficiency related field is preferred.
Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
The individual must possess strong oral and written communications skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven, collaborative work environment.
The individual must demonstrate a high regard for personal accountability.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail are desired.
Knowledge of the following is desired: the electric and gas utility industry; energy efficiency program planning, design, implementation, and evaluation, local and national energy policy, air source heat pumps, mini-splits, geothermal systems.
Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation is desired.
Professional experience in regulatory, environmental or energy field is desired.
A valid driver’s license is required.
