Req Number 00399BJob DescriptionPOSITIONSUMMARYAssists in providing planned activities andinterventions for the development, maintenance, and expression of appropriatesocial and leisure lifestyles of patients admitted to the Skilled Nursing andRehab facility.RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs initial Recreation assessments and leisure history interviews of patients admitted to the Unit. Assesses patients leisure, social and recreational abilities, deficiencies, interests, barriers, life expenses, needs, and potential.
Assists in the planning, implementation and coordination of individualized/group recreation therapy programs.
Assists in the provision of leisure educational activities. Assists the patient in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for independent leisure and social activities; adjustment in community; decision- making ability, and appropriate use of free time.
Assists in maintaining supplies for the department.
Responsible for assisting Director of Recreation.
Demonstrates ability to problem solve, communicate effectively, and work both independently and in group settings.
Prepares and operates equipment for various events and ensures that adequate supplies and equipment are available as needed.
Participates in maintaining an organized system of record keeping and statistics which comply with all regulatory and facility standards of practice.
Provides documentation of all events that occur during the regimen.
Performs related duties, as required.
ADAEssential FunctionsQualificationsREQUIREDEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSHigh SchoolDiploma or equivalent, required.One (1) year of healthcarerelated experience, preferred.
