City RochesterState MinnesotaTelecommute NoDepartment Management Engineering and ConsultingPosition descriptionMayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a Health Systems Engineer (Industrial Engineer – Healthcare) to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing complex processes involving delivery of healthcare services. Develop and pilot program redesign for complex large scale projects, enable team application of management, systems and process engineering frameworks, and statistical methods. Use machine learning tools and models to analyze comprehensive patient data sets, determine patterns, and identify relationships. Apply engineering expertise to define the need and functionality to assess current and future state of project requirements. Build and implement simulation models to help visualize operational decision imperfections with zero patient impact. Develop optimization models with various modules of the electronic health record to help clinic leaders make operational decisions. Utilize the following tools and tech: Visual Basic, Python, Solver, SQL, SAS, Stat Tools and Minitab.QualificationsThe position requires a Master’s degree, or higher, or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or closely related field. The position requires at least 3 years (36 months) of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Field Engineer, Health Systems Engineer or closely related occupation working with the following tools and technologies: Visual Basic, Python, Solver, SQL, SAS, Stat Tools and Minitab. Qualified candidate must have at least 3 years (36 months) of experience (a) managing engineering projects including work assignments, workflow design, and operation execution, (b) testing and implementing simulation models, and (c) using simulation models for data analysis. All experience may be gained concurrently.Exemption status ExemptCompensation DetailEducation, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
