Home Rehabilitation Manager Summary Purpose for the Position: To inspect, provide work specifications, cost estimates, construction and grant management for home rehabilitation and energy services projects. Provide assistance to ensure quality control and program production requirements are met. Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill): Position requires an Associate degree plus one years’ experience, or 4+ years of relevant training and experience in home remodeling and repair, construction, weatherization or administration of home rehabilitation programs. Must be able to evaluate and document home deficiencies, propose work scopes, understand and articulate housing program guidelines and other available housing services. BPI certification a plus. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and computer competency including familiarity with MS Office and internet use. Position Responsibilities: Inspects homes to determine existing housing conditions and necessary steps towards correcting problems/conditions. Interprets information and makes recommendations for required work; develops a written scope of work. Determines the best course of action with the available funding. Has daily contact with information of clients being served by housing rehab program. Assigned areas such as inspections, specification writing, cost estimates and construction supervision, in which independent discretion is required subject to review. Can recommend expenditures up to $40,000 per job. Determines which steps, methods and procedures from several prescribed options are required to successfully complete the project. Modify work specifications to address environmental, historical, lead paint and asbestos hazards found during independent environmental surveys Ensure compliance with program regulations Maintain accurate records, job and client documentation and input into computer. Submit reports and documentation as requested. Attend work related conferences, seminars and training sessions as requested. Working Conditions/Environment: There is moderate risk of injury or potential exposure to agents such as asbestos, lead based paints, radon or other building related toxins.
