MODIS is currently seeking a talented Project Director to lead and internal platform transformation project. This individual will be a key player in moving this platform from on premise to a SaaS solution.
Duties and Responsibilities of the IT Project Director Job in Rochester, NY:
Develops and manage the project plan, including allocation of resources across project timeline
Leads the design, planning, transformational efforts, testing and implementation associated with this project
Reports on status of key project milestone dates and deliverables to all key stakeholders
Manages agreed scope, time, and resources to achieve maximum project success
Identifies, communicates and manages project issues throughout project planning and delivery to minimize overall project risk and ensure transparency
Facilitates remediation and resolution of risks / issues and escalates as needed
Creates and manages a project team within approved budget that ensures project deliverables are met on established timelines, in alignment with company values
Plans, coordinates, deploys, and manages project resources, including consultants, to activities as needed to ensure project success
Develops a plan for a post-cutover support team that maximizes the effective use of institutional resources
Develops a decision-making framework to manage any decisions that could impact system configuration, business process design or the end-user experience
Works with users to understand, document, and enhance business processes and supporting documentation to meet user and business needs.
Assists in the translation of the business requirements into configurable software components and rules
Develops and manages robust change management, communications and training plan for all stakeholders
Provides clear input and direction on training materials
Coordinates the development and delivery of training, as well as reference materials
Works closely with leadership to ensure overall success of the program
Ensures that decisions made during the first phase of the project do not negatively impact the planning and delivery of future phases
Requirements of the IT Project Director Job in Rochester, NY:
Bachelor's degree in Information Sciences or equivalent
4-5 years management level experience
Preferred Requirements:
5-8 years of project management experience; PMI certification preferred
5 years of business process re-engineering and change management experience
Experience implementing solutions using a SaaS model
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to drive project execution through individuals for whom he/she has no direct authority
Proven customer-oriented approach to problem solving; strategic perspective and ability to visualize the desired state
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and to translate business needs into solution requirements
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet required deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
