This position has the responsibility for developing cost/price estimates of customer designed mechanical parts and assemblies.
Responsibilities
⢠Develop initial, efficient, cost effective, manufacturing processes from customer supplied prints.
⢠Provide pre-production support to customers and work with them to resolve any print variances, tolerance, or capability questions.
⢠Understand, evaluate, and refine production speeds and times. Compare actual times to estimates to better understand product costs going forward.
⢠Communicate with outside suppliers as necessary to understand capabilities and get pricing as needed.
⢠Provide pre-production support and work with project engineer during implementation.
Qualifications
⢠Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred.
⢠1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be familiar with various types of metalworking processes: punch press, turret press, lasers, press brake, spotweld, manual and robotic welding, hardware insertion, simple to complex assembly, CNC machining, deburring, etc. Familiar with all common finishes: plating, E-coat, powder coat, wet paint, etc.
⢠Able to manage multiple and ever changing priorities.
⢠Experienced in Excel
⢠Ability to read and understand mechanical prints.
⢠Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
