Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining the facilities at both the Meadows and Brickstone, including routine service and preventative maintenance, seasonal changes and repairs on building equipment, electrical and plumbing repairs, and new resident courtesy service. Provide high quality service in a collaborative team effort that is elder-focused and supports the Eden philosophy. This is a full time position, one position is M-F 8AM-4:30PM and the other one is Tuesday-Saturday 8AM-4:30PM

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Perform general maintenance duties, such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and appliance repairs

Ø Perform routine preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, lighting, water conditioning systems and other equipment as scheduled

Ø Carpentry and drywall repairs and painting

Ø Perform courtesy service for new residents (hang pictures, set up electronic equipment, install additional lighting and other fixtures)

Ø Take trash/recyclables from the Trash/Recycle Rooms to the pick-up areas daily

Ø Escort/assist contractors with periodic inspections and maintenance

Ø Perform routine maintenance on the pool and fitness equipment

Ø Order parts and materials, inventory control

Ø Snow removal and ice control

Ø Maintain all tools, equipment, vehicles and supplies in proper condition

Ø Attend in-service training and education sessions, as assigned

Ø Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid NYS driver’s license

Five (5) years of experience in building maintenance HVAC.

Good mechanical ability to troubleshoot and efficiently make adjustments and/or repairs

Some carpentry and painting experience

Willing to work with others and to learn and improve weaknesses

Self-motivated and show initiative to undertake and complete tasks without prompting

Ability to make quick, sound decisions

Interact with the residents, visitors and staff in a positive and courteous manner.

Physical Demands: Bending, lifting, moving furniture and other heavy objects and working with heavy equipment.

Exposure: Standard conditions and hazards experience in facility maintenance
