Job Summary: The Technology Innovator will be responsible for identifying, researching, and recommending new technology and automation for use at Upstate. The incumbent will help with the implementation of the approved technologies. This role will require understanding how the technology works, researching appropriate vendors, understanding the maintenance requirements, assisting in changing culture and behaviors around the technology, and modifying the infrastructure. The Technology Innovator supports the Information Management & Technology division. Duties include, but are not limited to, working with vendors, implementation of new technologies, and supporting the current drone and robotics programs. The Technology Innovator will assist with project-based work and work collaboratively with other IMT and Upstate departments.Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree (preferably in a STEAM-related field) and three years of related experience (preferably in a health care environment), OR an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent written/oral communications, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and computer skills are required. The incumbent must hold and maintain a current FAA part 107 certification (or obtain certification within a year). The position will require lifting 70 pounds several times a week.Candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree and two years relevant experience or an Associate's degree and a minimum of four years relevant experience or 6 years combination of education and experience may be considered for appointment to a lower-level position at a commensurate salary.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with drones, robotics, radio communications, the internet of things (loT), FAA and FCC regulations, and system administration is preferred. Familiarity with Airspacelink, Pix4D, DroneDeploy, SafetyDrone, B4uFly, FAA Drone Zone, MQTT, and LAANC, preferred.
