The York located in downtown Syracuse (Armory Square) is now seeking front-of-the-house talent!
The York is a family of hospitality professionals with the common goal of creating the best and customer-centric experiences. Within our full-service restaurant, we offer both indoor and patio dining. As business demands continue to grow, we are planning to expand our hours of operation from Thursday – Saturday to Wednesday – Sunday. Responsibilities & skills as a server:
Present yourself daily with a well-groomed appearance
Create lasting memories providing high-quality service and by personalizing experience to ensure guest satisfaction
Proficiency with current menus and demonstrate salesmanship by tailoring suggestions to individuals
Deliver drinks and food to guests
Oversee table maintenance
Communicate clearly with management, fellow staff, and guests
Maintain cleanliness and sanitization standards
Adhere to all local and national food safety and liquor laws
Maintain awareness of intoxication levels of patrons, serve responsibly, and respond appropriately
Use POS system effectively
Deliver checks, collect payment, and diligently operate cash handling to ensure all funds are accounted for at the end of the shift
Stand for extended periods of time uninterrupted, lift up to 30 lbs., continuously bend, reach, twist and use your hands and arms
Carry out other duties as requested
Responsibilities & skills as a bartender:
Present yourself daily with a well-groomed appearance
Create lasting memories providing high-quality service and by personalizing experience to ensure guest satisfaction
Proficiency with current menus and demonstrate salesmanship by tailoring suggestions to individuals
Deliver drinks and food to guests
Oversee bar maintenance
Mix and serve drinks following standardized recipes
Keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean
Communicate clearly with management, fellow staff, and guests
Maintain cleanliness and sanitization standards
Adhere to all local and national food safety and liquor laws
Use POS system effectively
Deliver checks, collect payment, and diligently operate cash handling to ensure all funds are accounted for at the end of the shift
Stand for extended periods of time uninterrupted, lift up to 30 lbs., continuously bend, reach, twist and use your hands and arms
Carry out other duties as requested
Responsibilities & skills as a host[ess]:
Present yourself daily with a well-groomed appearance
Provide a timely and appropriate greeting to welcome guests and set the stage for the rest of their experience
Present menus and control pace of seating in the restaurant
Become proficient with the current menus and tailor suggestions to individual guests
Support service by aiding fellow staff if needed or as requested by the manager
Assist with cleaning and resetting tables
Ensure guest satisfaction by personalizing experience and following up to any requests
Communicate effectively with management, fellow staff, and guests
Maintain cleanliness and sanitization standards
Adhere to all local and national food safety and liquor laws
Maintain awareness of intoxication levels of patrons, serve responsibly, and respond appropriately
Stand for extended periods of time uninterrupted, lift up to 30 lbs., continuously bend, reach, twist and use your hands and arms
Carry out other duties as requested
Preferred:
Exemplary working knowledge of spirits, wine, cocktails, and food service
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
