ABOUT OUR MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
The Cazenovia Golf Club maintenance department operates in a professional, but relaxed environment. We pride ourselves on providing excellent golf course conditions for our members and their guests.
Your work week and hours can be flexible depending on your personal/family schedule. Our maintenance shifts are usually from 6:00 am – 2:30 pm Monday – Friday depending on league and tournament requirements. There may be a few weekend mornings throughout the season, once again depending on the tournament schedule. If you like working outdoors and with equipment, our maintenance department could be a perfect fit for you!
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Greenskeeper, it is important for you to understand the importance of your role as part of our Maintenance Department. This position prepares and maintains golf course greens, fairways, and other golf course surfaces as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC RESPONSIBLITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each assigned duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Maintain golf course, including bunkers, greens, driving range, and tee boxes and sets golf course to include putting cups, setting tees, repairing greens, raking bunkers and mowing greens and fairways.
2. Maintain the landscape around the clubhouse; trim trees and remove cuttings, rake leaves.
3. Safely operate all equipment such as mowers and aerators used for various course maintenance needs.
4. Clean and inspect machinery after every use and report machinery/equipment problems to the supervisor.
5. Drive maintenance vehicles and tractors.
6. Operate several different types of mowers and trimmers.
7. Collect and empty trash cans, sort recyclables and fill course drinking water containers
8. Water plants and turf.
PRIOR FARM/LANDSCAPING/GOLF COURSE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED!!!!
