Etsy is looking for a Manager to lead our Engineering Partnerships team.

About the Team

Engineering Partnerships is responsible for vendor management, focusing specifically on staffing agencies and contract engineering vendors who augment Etsy Engineering’s workforce. As Manager, you will lead the team in quickly and effectively sourcing engineering contractors on behalf of engineering managers looking to add contractors to their teams.

We’re a diverse group of coordinators and program managers. Here are some of the challenges we help Engineering meet:

• Expanding our vendor pool so that engineering managers always have a choice of where to source contractors.

• Partnering closely with department leads so that we understand the specifics of each contractor request.

• Deepening our partnerships with key vendors so that we always know where best to source a specific request.

• Working collaboratively as a team to improve process, automation, and shorten contractor placement time.

• Partnering with Legal, Finance, Accounting, HR, and Strategic Sourcing so that engagement with those support teams happens effectively and with a minimum of friction to Engineering.

This role will be located in our Brooklyn HQ upon the return to in-office work.

Qualifications

About the Role

As Manager for this team, you can expect to:

• Serve as the People Manager for a growing team of Program Coordinators and Program Managers on Engineering Partnerships

• Continually and compassionately support the growth of team members by facilitating continuous learning and improvement.

• Lead the team in managing a portfolio of vendors that grows in size and complexity.

• Prioritize the work of a fast-moving team based on available team capacity.

• Manage staffing and budget.

• Collaborate with managers on non-engineering teams who are vital to the success of an effective contractor management program.

• Make data-driven decisions about the effectiveness of the team and the health of the contractor management program.

• Prior experience managing a team remotely

About You

You will do well in this role if you have:

• 3+ years direct experience with people management.

• 6+ years of relevant experience in program management.

• Previous experience with a start-up or technology company.

• Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.

• Experience operationalizing business changes and process improvement

• Clear and kind communication.

• Enthusiasm for financial modeling and forecasting.

• Familiarity with agile practices.
